The Successful Home Inspector Podcast Episode 153 Justin and Elizabeth Ferraro

Justin and Elizabeth Ferraro
Justin and Elizabeth Ferraro

In 2013 Justin Ferraro started Rivertown Property Inspections fueled by a passion to not just provide a necessary service, but to take that service and elevate it to the next level. As a native to Horry County, a Purple Heart Veteran, and devoted family man, Justin knew that he wanted his company to reflect his values. This is why at RPI you get more than your average home inspection. Instead, at RPI not only do we make your home our priority but we also make this community and everyone a part of it our priority. Over time as the company began to grow and Justin’s dream became a reality, his passion carried over to his wife Elizabeth, and eventually she traded in her trauma nurse scrubs in order to make her life partner also her business partner. While Rivertown Property Inspections may not be the one-man show that it started as, one thing will forever remain consistent: making your home our top priority!

As a Seattle Home Inspector, I am committed to bringing all my years of experience, as well as my continuing education regarding home construction practices, to bear, in assisting the Home Buyer/Seller with their Home purchase/sale.

Inspecting NW Homes

Inspecting NW Homes

It is my intention that the Home Buyer/Seller have an accurate, “snap-shot” of the major components of the Home, thus assisting them in making an informed decision. While based in Seattle/Shoreline WA, I inspect homes all over Western Washington State, including King County, Snohomish County and sometimes even Pierce County. Some of the cities I commonly get to are Everett, Lynnwood, Bothel, Kenmore, Kent, SeaTac, Bellevue, Kirkland—-and many others. Some buyers have referred to my inspection reports as “beginning” owner’s manuals for their home.

Business & Inspection Experience

I have been designing and building residential structures for over 35 years.

Previous to becoming a Home Inspector in 2004, I was a “hands-on” general contractor and I was actively involved in all aspects of residential construction. As a designer and a builder, I had to keep up-to-date in all the trades involved in this work: foundations, framing, electrical, plumbing, insulation, drywall, siding, roofing etc. My specialties have been kitchen design, second story additions, whole house remodels, and new passive solar houses—-including composting toilets and wood foundations.

I currently sit on the Home Inspector Licensing Advisory Board of the State of Washington.

I am also on the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) technical review committee at the National level and served as chair of the committee for 2016.

I am a Graduate of Bellingham Technical College, Bellingham, Wa., Residential Home Inspection Course (160 hours), and I am currently an instructor with this program. This course is approved by the State of Washington for Home Inspector Education as preparation for new inspector licensing.
