Episode 86 Tyrus Parrish

Tyrus Parrish
Tyrus Parrish

Tyrus Parrish is a code certified home inspector who has a passion for educating and empowering homebuyers in the metro Atlanta area. This passion and sense of commitment radiates whether he’s performing inspections or teaching at home buyer’s seminars at the Atlanta Urban League and Reynoldstown Revitalization Corporation.

The old saying, “ the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”, couldn’t be more fitting for Tyrus.  Being the son of a real estate agent has provided him with an intimate and insightful perspective on the home buying process. He’s very much aware of the anxieties and unforeseeable obstacles that present themselves during this whirlwind period in a buyer’s life.

In 1999, Tyrus took his 12 years as an “unofficial” real estate assistant along with his passion, integrity and technical know-how and founded Safe & Sound Home Inspections. He takes this knowledge and provides clients with peace of mind.  This enables them to make confident decisions during the negotiation process of the real estate transaction.

In addition to the 16 years of banner customer serviceprovided to over 2500 metro Atlanta homeowners Tyrus has acquired some highly respected certifications in the home inspection industry.

  • American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) #247572
  • International Code Council (ICC) # 4951
  • International Property Maintenance & Housing # 1106S

Individuals looking for a person with integrity, compassion, experience and a spirit of servanthood need look no further.

The combination of “real life” real estate experience and field related certifications makes this gentleman an invaluable asset to any real estate team.

Episode 46 Delivering Happiness

Charlotte Home Inspector Preston Sandlin
Charlotte Home Inspector Preston Sandlin

In this episode of the Successful Home Inspection Podcast Preston Sandlin of Home Inspection Carolina and Ask the Charlotte Home Inspector reviews the book “Delivering Happiness” by Tony Hsieh.

Now in trade paperback, the hip, iconoclastic CEO of Zappos shows how a different kind of corporate culture can make a huge difference in achieving remarkable results — by actually creating a company culture that values happiness –and then delivers on it.

  • Pay brand-new employees $2,000 to quit
  • Make customer service the responsibility of the entire company-not just a department
  • Focus on company culture as the #1 priority
  • Apply research from the science of happiness to running a business
  • Help employees grow-both personally and professionally
  • Seek to change the world
  • Oh, and make money too . . .

Sound crazy? It’s all standard operating procedure at Zappos, the online retailer that’s doing over $1 billion in gross merchandise sales annually. After debuting as the highest-ranking newcomer in Fortune magazine’s annual “Best Companies to Work For” list in 2009, Zappos was acquired by Amazon in a deal valued at over $1.2 billion on the day of closing.

In DELIVERING HAPPINESS, Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh shares the different lessons he has learned in business and life, from starting a worm farm to running a pizza business, through LinkExchange, Zappos, and more. Fast-paced and down-to-earth, DELIVERING HAPPINESS shows how a very different kind of corporate culture is a powerful model for achieving success-and how by concentrating on the happiness of those around you, you can dramatically increase your own.
