As a Seattle Home Inspector, I am committed to bringing all my years of experience, as well as my continuing education regarding home construction practices, to bear, in assisting the Home Buyer/Seller with their Home purchase/sale.

Inspecting NW Homes

Inspecting NW Homes

It is my intention that the Home Buyer/Seller have an accurate, “snap-shot” of the major components of the Home, thus assisting them in making an informed decision. While based in Seattle/Shoreline WA, I inspect homes all over Western Washington State, including King County, Snohomish County and sometimes even Pierce County. Some of the cities I commonly get to are Everett, Lynnwood, Bothel, Kenmore, Kent, SeaTac, Bellevue, Kirkland—-and many others. Some buyers have referred to my inspection reports as “beginning” owner’s manuals for their home.

Business & Inspection Experience

I have been designing and building residential structures for over 35 years.

Previous to becoming a Home Inspector in 2004, I was a “hands-on” general contractor and I was actively involved in all aspects of residential construction. As a designer and a builder, I had to keep up-to-date in all the trades involved in this work: foundations, framing, electrical, plumbing, insulation, drywall, siding, roofing etc. My specialties have been kitchen design, second story additions, whole house remodels, and new passive solar houses—-including composting toilets and wood foundations.

I currently sit on the Home Inspector Licensing Advisory Board of the State of Washington.

I am also on the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) technical review committee at the National level and served as chair of the committee for 2016.

I am a Graduate of Bellingham Technical College, Bellingham, Wa., Residential Home Inspection Course (160 hours), and I am currently an instructor with this program. This course is approved by the State of Washington for Home Inspector Education as preparation for new inspector licensing.

Your home will be evaluated for physical condition including the construction, structure and the components of the home. Our trained inspectors will look at roofing, interiors, exteriors, structural components, electrical system, plumbing system, and more. Have a seasoned and licensed home inspector give you peace of mind.

Choosing the right home inspection company can be difficult. Unlike most professionals you hire, you probably won’t meet your inspector until your inspection appointment–after you’ve hired us. Furthermore, different inspection companies have varying qualifications, equipment, experience, reporting methods, and pricing. One thing that’s certain is that a home inspection requires a lot of work. Ultimately, a thorough inspection depends heavily on the individual inspector’s effort. If you honor us by permitting us to inspect your new home, we guarantee that we will give you our very best effort.

A thorough inspection of a house is extremely important before you finalize the sale of your new home. At Champion Home Inspection LLC our certified home inspectors take home inspections seriously! We are also certified through the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors, (InterNashi) as well as Certified, Insured, and Licensed in Indiana so you can trust that you’re getting the most thorough and accurate assessment possible.

We Stand Behind Our Inspections:
When we conduct your inspection, you’ll enjoy complete peace of mind knowing that we GUARANTEE your satisfaction. If, for any reason, you’re not 100% satisfied with the quality of our service, just tell the inspector before you receive your report. We’ll either make it right or you will not be charged for the inspection.

Champion Home Inspection LLC is owned and operated by Inspector Stephen Rager, who is a US Army Iraq War Veteran and has gone from serving our country to serving our community! Stephen will be your home buying or selling advocate! We are committed to providing you with outstanding service as we’re highly experienced and extremely thorough. In an industry inundated with meritless claims, it can be tough to make it as a home inspector. Even if you do nothing wrong, you can end up being blamed, leaving you frustrated or, worse, out of business.

InspectorPro Insurance aims to change that culture.

InspectorPro Insurance is one of the leading home inspection insurance providers in the nation. With a reputation built on superior claims handling and quality customer service, InspectorPro gives its clients peace of mind. Its risk management education works to decrease how often claims arise. And when claims do occur, its errors and omissions and general liability insurance policies are built to serve your unique business needs.

In this episode, I talk to Stephanie Jaynes, InspectorPro’s Content Marketing Manager. We talk frankly about the most common claims in the home inspection industry and how home inspectors can mitigate their risk with tools like pre-claims assistance, solid report and contract writing, and E&O and general liability insurance.

During the interview, Stephanie referred to a lot of resources available to home inspectors, even if they aren’t insured with InspectorPro. Here are the ones she mentioned in the order she mentioned them:

The Successful Home Inspector Episode 141 Blake Spann

Blake Spann
Blake Spann

My name is Blake T. Spann I am the owner of INSPEKT and licensed Home Inspector in the state of Indiana. Many home inspectors often state their experience in this trade by years. You will often see inspectors who have been in construction for 20+ years or have been a home inspector for 10+ years. While all of this is very good experience, I like to state my experienced not necessarily on years of experience, but how many home inspections I have performed. Since 2008 I have completed 3000+ home inspections. These homes included everything from small Condo’s to $30 Million dollar beach front estates in southwest Florida. No matter what the value of the home is however, I treat all inspections the same. My goal is to educate you on your home’s condition so you can make a confident decision about your purchase.

The Successful Home Inspector Podcast Episode 139 Reuben Saltzman

Rueben Saltzman
Rueben Saltzman

Reuben is a second-generation home inspector with a passion for his work. He grew up remodeling homes and learning about carpentry since he was old enough to hold a hammer. Reuben has worked for Structure Tech since it was purchased in 1997 and is now the owner and President of the company.

Reuben grew up thinking he was going to be a school teacher because he enjoyed teaching others so much. In a sense, that’s a lot of what home inspections are about, so Reuben truly does what he loves. Reuben teaches continuing education classes to real estate agents throughout the Twin Cities, and rarely does home inspections alone anymore; almost every home inspection is conducted with an apprentice home inspector by his side.

Reuben has an A.A. degree in liberal arts and has attended most of the Building Inspection Technology classes at North Hennepin Community College.

Reuben and his wife are the proud parents of two young children, Cy Alexander and Lucy Nicole. With two young children, Reuben doesn’t have much free time but he still tries to play disc golf as often as possible during the summer.

Reuben is being interviewed by Preston Sandlin of Home Inspection Carolina and Ask the Charlotte Inspector.
